Phoenix Veterans’ Affairs Renovation
Au’ Authum Ki, Inc. along with a Joint Venture partner were the prime contractor for this project which consisted of renovating approximately 4,300 SF of the 4th Floor “E” Wing located in Building 1, to result in a 6 bed Short Stay Intensive Care Unit (SSICU) and Pain Management Clinic with 4 Exam Rooms.
The renovation consisted of installing new ductwork and acoustical ceiling while maintaining the continued operation of the neighboring Cath Lab. In addition, our Team installed a new AHU on the roof and ducted it down to the renovated area, installed new flooring, ceilings, nurses station, millwork, new nurse call system, new fire alarm, new med gas system, new security system, automatic door operators, doors and hardware, waiting area and a new DIRTT wall. The six new SSICU patient bays received new head halls, specialty lighting, BCMA, med gases and ICU sliding doors. Demolition of the existing space included asbestos abatement. Project highlights: This project occurred in a fully functioning hospital which required continued operation throughout construction therefore infection control and safety were strictly implemented and enforced.
